Book Club

Our Book Club meets in Starbuck once a month. This is a great program for those who love to read! It gives readers an opportunity to read a common book and then discuss the book with others. This has resulted in some very interesting and lively discussions!

 

 

Exercises

Join us in Starbuck on Monday mornings at 10 – 11 a.m. for a variety of exercises led by Liza Rasmussen. Exercises held at Riverdale Apartments. No special equipment needed.

Join us in Sanford on Wednesday mornings, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. for a variety of exercises led by Agnes Gousseau. Exercises held at Mandan Manor. No special equipment needed.

 

Due to covid 19, all exercise programs have been suspended. please refer to the home exercise booklet for exercises you can do at home.

 

Older Adults and Physical Activity

GEMS Congregate Meal Program

“Greet, Eat & Meet” (GEMS) is a community meal program for older adults held each week, beginning at Noon in Starbuck and 11:45 in Sanford.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the GEMS program has been changed to a Meals on Wheels home delivery program on Wednesdays and Thursdays for the communities of Starbuck, Sanford, Oak Bluff, La Salle and Brunkild, and Domain. Please call for more information on when we deliver to your community.

If you would like a meal delivered to you, please call 204-735-3052 by the Monday before the Wednesday or Thursday lunch delivery.

 

Pickleball

Come play pickleball with us! This court sport combines the rules of ping pong, tennis and badminton and is played with 2 or four players. Its easy for beginners to learn but can develop into a fast-paced competitive game for more experienced players. Equipment is available for beginners who would like to try the game. Please bring clean indoor shoes.

Let No One Be Alone

Family Pancake Breakfast

Held annually late April/early May to raise awareness of people living alone in your community. All-You-Can-Eat Pancakes & Sausages. Tickets sold in advance or at the door. Call MSS for more information.

Christmas Luncheon

Held on the first Friday in December at the Oak Bluff Rec. Centre. Tickets include the meal, entertainment and door prizes. Tickets are available mid October. Call MSS for more information.

2020 update: there will be no Christmas luncheon this year. Hope to have it again in 2021.
