About Macdonald Senior Services
The purpose of Macdonald Services to Seniors is to encourage, support and facilitate services to enable older adults aged 60+ to live independent, active and healthy lives.
History
Macdonald Services to Seniors has been providing services and support to the seniors in our communities since 2006. In 2017, the RM of Macdonald assumed administrative responsibility for Macdonald Services to Seniors Incorporated (MSSI), transitioning the organization from a non- profit corporation to an advisory committee of Council.
The Macdonald Seniors Advisory Committee (MSAC) is represented by volunteers from each community to provide advice and perspective to the Senior Services Resource Coordinator and Council of the RM of Macdonald on all matters relating to supporting older adults to remain living independently in the municipality for as long as possible. MSAC will also assist with identifying and suggesting solutions to gaps and barriers that impede full participation of seniors in all aspects of community life.
